Rodney Park Revitalization Project Finalists
The Rodney Park project is part of the City of Lancaster’s Parks, Recreation and Open Space Plan. The half acre park was once covered in asphalt and predominately served as a parking lot for visitors to the Senior Center located in the Northeast corner of the park. The renovations have replaced much of the asphalt with grass areas and permeable paving. This fits in well with the City’s effort to reduce stormwater runoff and prevent further pollution from overflow into the Conestoga River. An outdated pool in the Southwest corner of the park has been replaced with a colorful new interactive water spray area and a rubber surface space with safe children’s play equipment. Listed below are the two proposals up for consideration; we ask that you view them carefully and offer constructive feedback via our Facebook poll (click here for poll). Crystal Park Revitalization Project Finalists
Crystal Park, located at First Street and Riker Avenue, has long been an underutilized park in the City of Lancaster. As part of its Urban Parks, Recreation and Open Space plan, the City has targeted Crystal Park for major renovations, including a new public artwork with the express purpose of placing engaging public art that celebrates the diversity of our city’s neighborhoods in a location where it can be enjoyed by residents and visitors. Listed below are the two proposals up for consideration; we ask that you view them carefully and offer constructive feedback via our Facebook poll (click here for poll). For more information about the public art aspect of this project, please contact Tracy Beyl at tbeyl@cityoflancasterpa.com.
